Topic:
Imagined Realities: Storytelling in 3D Design
Brief description:
In this course, you’ll choose from a curated selection of 3D artefacts and build an original mythology around your chosen piece. Your goal is to create a still or animated render that conveys the story you’ve created. We will draw from references of mythology, technology, storytelling, religion, photography, painting and fashion to teach how to find inspiration beyond the medium of 3D design. We hope to teach that your ideas are improved by drawing meaning from the world around your practice and help it improve your designs. This course will be taught using Maxon Cinema 4D, some knowledge is required. We invite participants to also bring along a meaningful object of their choice that can be 3D scanned or modelled if proficient.
Biography:
Daisy Chain Studio is run by Connor Campbell and Harry Butt. Both partners grew up in remote parts of Scotland and England, each cultivating a reliance on our imagination. After finding their path to London and making a name for themselves as motion designers and animation directors they came together to begin a new studio in the Spring of 2024. Recent projects at Daisy Chain have been for Nike, Warp Records, A24 and Sandisk.
